Plant Based Protein Powder Reviews – Genceutic Naturals Plant Head Protein by Matt Bible

We have been researching and trying several different plant based protein powder options within the past couple of weeks. Even though Whey Protein is one of the best proteins for your post workout, unfortunately a lot of people’s stomachs cannot tolerate it because they may not be able to handle dairy. I personally can only handle a small amount. While I can consume whey protein after my workout, I have to switch to plant based proteins throughout the rest of the day. One of the first ones we came across was Genceutic Naturals Plant Head Protein.

Genceutic Naturals Plant Head Protein consists of a blend of Pea Protein, Brown Rice Protein, Whole Algalin Protein, Hemp Protein, and Cranberry Protein.

The Pros:

  1. It is Soy-Free and it is non-GMO.
  2. It is easy on the stomach.
  3. It has the essential amino acids needed for muscle repair.
  4. The taste is decent (Not the best I’ve ever had, but I surely did not cringe when I consumed this protein.)
  5. It is a great value.  A 1.8 lb. tub will cost you between $20-$25.
  6. Although, there is a bit of cane sugar in the mix, it is minimal, and it is also sweetened with stevia (no artificial sweeteners)

The Cons:

  1. At 15 grams a serving, while it is certainly a filling snack, you may struggle reaching your protein goals for the day if you are bodybuilding.
  2. The cane sugar and carrageenan may be a concern to some people.  The sugar content is minimal, like I just previously mentioned, and it does not contain GMO Sugar Beets.  Carrageenan, which is found in many healthy foods has been under controversy as of late.  However, a bit more scientific evidence is needed to really form an opinion about Carrageenan.

Overall, Genceutic Naturals Plant Head Protein is not my favorite protein by any means, but it is one I would not mind trying again.  I tried the chocolate flavor last time.  Perhaps, I may try the vanilla flavor next.  It is a suitable substitute for whey protein, and I would recommend it.
