I recently was provided the opportunity to sample a tub of Naked Nutrition’s Less Naked Chocolate Whey Protein. For those not familiar with Naked Nutrition, they pride themselves on selling products with only the purest ingredients, stripping away all of the marketing and gimmicks that many companies use today. They want to help you meet your nutrition and fitness goals while being transparent about their products. You would know exactly what you are putting into your body. That is important in a world where there are lots of fillers and unnecessary ingredients in your supplements.

From Grass Fed Whey Protein, Pea Protein Powder, Organic Brown Rice Protein Powder, Powdered Peanut Butter, Casein Protein, Creatine Monohydrate, and more, Naked Nutrition offers a wide variety of products. I chose the Less Naked Chocolate Whey Protein. I personally consume whey protein and plant based protein. I chose whey protein because it is the most common and most popular protein powder to help people achieve their fitness goals. I felt the outreach would be larger reviewing a whey protein product. It is also their best seller.

Here are some facts about the Less Naked Chocolate Whey Protein:

I will tell you the taste is a far cry from what you would normally expect out of your protein powders.  I also am used to heavily flavored protein powders, even though I have been making the shift from protein powders with artificial sweeteners to ones with natural sweeteners.  This protein powder does not taste like a candy bar or Grandma’s chocolate brownies.  The taste was something I had to get used to.  I felt the first scoop did not have a lot of flavor.  That was also due to me not shaking the protein in my protein shaker enough.  I was used to the instant gratification of my protein being drinkable after five seconds.  You need to shake the Less Naked Chocolate Whey Protein for 20-30 seconds in your shaker (With your beverage of choice.  I experimented with water and with unsweetened almond milk.).  Then it is ready to drink.  The second scoop I tried had more flavor.  It was a subtle chocolate flavor, but it felt clean as I drank it.  It is one of the few whey protein powders I have tried that actually did not leave an aftertaste.  The hint of coconut sugar brings out the chocolate flavor more, but does not overpower it or make this powder a calorie bomb.  I tried it on my oatmeal with strawberries one day, and enjoyed it.  I also tried it with a teaspoon of natural peanut butter on my oatmeal the morning after that.  Again, it provided a lot of flavor with ingredients I could feel good about consuming.  It may take a time or two to get used to their protein powder since it is different from pretty much everything else on the market most of us have been accustomed to.

You do not have to be limited to using the shaker.  You can blend it with your favorite smoothie recipes.  The picture below looks amazing!
