Losing the weight you have always wanted to lose feels great. I am fortunate enough to have done that transformation and I am fortunate that helping other people lose weight/fat/inches/gain muscle is what I do for a living! Is it easy even with the best possible plan and guidance? Not always! It is not impossible, though! We are normal human beings with jobs, kids, commutes (especially if you live in areas similar to the DC area), stressors, lack of sleep, the need for a social life and so on. We…

Over the next few weeks, I will show you how I shake up cardio and utilize it as a fat loss and strength training combination. I finish off with running speed work mainly outdoors when the weather is nice.…

If you are not familiar with Muay Thai, it is the national sport of Thailand, and one of the most effective stand up fighting systems in the world. Practitioners of Muay Thai are incredibly fit and develop strong, athletic bodies. This system of martial arts uses powerful strikes with the hands, elbows, knees and feet. This is why Muay Thai is known as “The Art of 8 Limbs.” In the past, martial arts based fitness programs were either too “dance oriented” or they limited the instructor by only offering a…

What will you do to reach your goals? How badly do you want to reach them? I ask my clients these questions quite often. I ask myself these questions as well. As far as clients, I provide a training plan on how we will go about reaching those goals. Every person is unique. What works for one person may not work for somebody else. Every person has a various set of obstacles they have to work around. Some obstacles can be stressful and time consuming such as unexpected overtime at…

If you are looking for an exercise that will give you a challenging strength and cardio workout, look no further than Squat Jumps! This is a very common exercise in Plyometrics, HIIT classes, and Boot Camps just to name a few. We incorporate the Squat Jumps in many of the classes we teach as well. We have a video below in addition to the following instructions: Stand with your feet at shoulder width apart, and your knees pointing straight ahead. Pull your shoulder blades down, then engage your abdominal and…

The Push-Up is one of the most basic exercises. It is also one of the most effective and underrated exercises. Many people dismiss it because we would do them in grade school. Not only is it excellent in building your chest, shoulders, and triceps, you can do the Push-Up practically anywhere, eliminating excuses that you could not get to a gym and therefore you were not able to workout. To do it correctly, lie prone on floor with your hands…
