As a mommy of two little ones, ages four and two years old, I have every excuse in the book not to work out. One of those excuses is there is no time in the day to do it.  I mean after all keeping up with household chores, all the errands that need run, raising and entertaining my little ones and ensuring I am a supportive and good wife to my husband, definitely make for a fully packed schedule. No one would think any less of me if I put…

As a child, I loved to play outside.  I wasn’t concerned with the weather or time of day, just playing. However, since my days as an adolescent (not to sound too old) many things have changed. Current technology like; iPads, iPhones, Playstations, and computers have become a distraction to children, dominating a child’s free time. The average child spends more time playing virtual video games compared with playing games outside, where actual physical activity is required. The world we live in is also a much different place, compared to a…

If there is one piece of fitness equipment Cass Fitness feels just about everybody needs, it is a foam roller. I am excited to share one of my random protein smoothie concoctions with you this Christmas! This smoothie not only gives you a boost of natural energy and helps you recover from your workout, but it tastes great too! This is a whole meal in a blender. A lot of my smoothies are very heavy on the kale because you can put a lot of it in. Kale fills you up quickly while having a low calorie content. In addition, you still taste sweetness from your other ingredients since Kale's…

As some of you know, a couple years ago, I suffered a really bad lower back injury. I mainly got it from working at a job where I stood up for eight to ten hours a day. In addition, I did not have proper fitting shoes, which is especially crucial since my right leg is about 1/2 inch longer than my left. I will cover in more detail about how my glutes and legs were weak, also adding to the impact of my lower back pain in a future article.…

This is a weight loss journey from April Kinzler, a lady I went to high school with.  Her journey from 235 lbs. down to 136 lbs. was quite a roller coaster ride.  The beginning of the journey was very tough for April.  However, she surrounded herself with positive people, including a supportive future husband, and she was determined to meet her goal WITHOUT EXCUSES, even as a busy woman with a full time job and two kids.  I asked April to write about her weight loss journey a few days…

This is an article I wrote back in March, 2013. It was endorsed by Xlear, the company who makes Spry gum. They appreciated the article and posted it on their social media pages. -Matt   If you know me personally, then you know I love to chew gum. I've been chewing gum ever since I got my braces off (even occasionally when I had them on...sorry, Mom). Unfortunately, while there were many varieties of gum I chewed and enjoyed, all of them had one thing in common. If they did not have…
